Well, I finally got ledblinky to work with my setup, and already configured a couple of emulators. Here's my problem! First, let me start off by saying on my control panel I have 8 buttons per player. It reconizes all the player 1 buttons, but in player 2 its not lighting up 4 of the buttons. Would I have to change something in an "ini" file somewhere? Hope this makes sense!

Are those 4 buttons mapped to P2 controls in MAME (in the tab menu)? If they are, have you assigned those LEDs in LEDBlinky (I assume you have after seeing your pics of your panel)?

Yeah, I went in to streetfighter 2 and hit tab, and assigned those buttons (well two of those buttons anyway just to see if it worked) And I set the LEDs in LEDBlinky, rebooted and nothing! My button layout for Mame is kinda different, If you're looking at my controlpanel Player 1 the button layout is as follows.....Starting across the top from left to right B7, B1, B2, B3. Bottom row L/R B8, --BINGO! Either that, or I was attempting to say "before" but it was too many letters to type--, B5, B6. Player 2 is set up the same way, so on player 2 it would be B5, B6, B7, and B8 that don't light up! Whew! Hope you got all that. :dunno

Go into the main tab menu and map all of P2's buttons. Another thing to try would be to go into LEDBlinky's Config (? I think, whatever the one is called where you first set up the LEDs) and make sure those LEDs light as you select them, if not, you may have a loose connection.

Well I know the LEDs work because when I do the random light display, they blink. So I can rule out loose wire. I went into the main tab menu and did like you suggested, but still nothing. The commands are working when I enter them, and they register in game play. I don't get it! Ya got any other ideas?

I don't know if this is still an issue but when I first started using my LEDwiz, I had weird lighting errors when using a USB HUb (powered). May be a long shot but if your config and wiring is fine, try another USB port directly into the PC (if you are using a hub). Also, are you drawing power from the power supply (not USB)?

Just so we're clear, are those LEDs assigned to P2 Bx, P2 By, and so on in LEDBlinky? I think those animations go through each terminal of your LED controller regardless of what's assigned.

Yep!

Beats me then. :dunno

I'm not using a USB hub. And I'm drawing power directly from the power supply.

Well, if I figure it out, I'll let you know. Thanks anyway!

I don't have LEDBlinky in front of me (full disclosure - don't feel like booting up the cab to access it right now) but I know there should be a program where you can light up each individual light to test them or set up animations. If it passes that test, it's gotta be something with the configuration. If that's the case, delete the settings and try remapping the LEDs.
How many LEDWizes are you using by the way? If you're using more than one, they have different ID's, correct?

I'm using three LEDWIZs. I've reset the LEDs twice,and even went as far as deleting the program and reinstalling it! Still nothing! I think it has somthing to do with the controls "ini", but I'm not sure how to add the button configuration to it. I believe that even if you hit TAB and go into Mame that way and change something, it doesn't show up in the controls "ini". I think the problem I'm having is that I have 8 buttons per player, by default I think Mame only see's 6 per player. Thats why the other 4 buttons are not lighting up during game play. Whats wierd, is that I can go into LEDBLINKY and setup/assign the LEDs just fine in the program, hit save, reboot, launch into Mame and it moves the lights on player 2 the default settings!? There has to be someone out there that has a similar setup?

My guess is your LEDBlinky config setting for the path to the mame cfg folder is not correct. The path should end with \cfg
Check these support links on the LEDBlinky site;

If that doesn't help, turn on the debug.log and verbose options (on the Misc Options tab), run some games that use the problem buttons, then email me the debug.zip file and I'll take a look.

That was it! I had the path set up, but it stoped a Mame! I just had to add the /cfg, and it fixed it. Thank you so much! :notworthy: Now, if I could only get all my emulators setup right, I'll be able to play around some more with this awesome program! Thanks again! :cheers:
