I have read mixed reviews on the Makvisions 25" and 27" monitors. A couple of years ago I had planned on getting a Wells Gardner, but that ship has sailed, so it looks like a Makvision, or some other option. Is anyone out there using a Makvision? Got any comments on it? Or maybe another good alternative that doesnt involve a flat screen? I would like to to keep the experience as pure as possible.
Thanks!

As I've said before...
Makvision is ok...have a bunch of them in commercial use, all at least 5 years old, and only one problem so far.
Wells Gardner D9200: bought 4, 3 failed out of the box, chassis were replaced by WG. As of Nov. 2011, all 4 have failed.

"OK" really does sum it up. Suzo Happ had them on sale about a year ago so I picked one up. The color is great. Mine seems to have a slight horizontal linearity issue and I spoke to Keith in their tech support about it. He told me that it is a common issue with them and that the quality is just not the same as the Phillips brand that are no longer made. Seems like the prices have gone up a great deal since my original purchase so it would be a tough call as to whether I would want to put that much cash out for a second one. I might try a TV on the next cabinet and see where that leads. Sony TV's are going for $25-$50 on Craig's list.

I've got a 29" (27" viewable) Makvision tri-mode analog flat screen. I'm pretty happy with it. Picture quality is great, but I'd say that the colors are a bit sharper on the Wells Gardner D9800. I haven't really adjusted it perfectly yet, so I might take those words back later.
Anyways, I don't think you'll be disappointed. :)
