I picked up a 360 today and it came with a DDR pad. I took it apart and after a bit of black crap removal, I have big fat solder points for most buttons.
I'm really curious about the "not used" points on the PCB, hoping I can get shoulder buttons or something off it. Does anyone have any info about using these things? They can be had for ~$10 on CL so they might be a good option if there is a solder point for shoulder buttons.

You've got one in your hands, so you are the best person to find out. ;)
Plug it in, start connecting the "not used" points to a ground one at a time and see what happens.
Keep in mind that sometimes gamepads have multiple grounds, so one of those points might be the ground for the others.
