Chuck-

If you ever get your yoke, I have an extra brand-new yoke label for a SW that you can have. It's slightly damaged (UPS damaged it in shipping), but I bet it could be smoothed out with some heat. Let me know.

Jim - totally thought about it, wanna be a business partner?  Only problem is all that stock was already taken over once and there is no telling if any stock actually remains.  Sure you could email and ask but if you get a reply it's not something to be trusted without a road trip.  Hell, I'd be willing to do it pretty much at cost as a community service but lord knows what actual cost is on those parts and I don't want to be moving yokes for $300 bones, I just feel slimey about it.

Yotsuya - you rock man.  I've got a mini build I'm brewing.  If it works out I may just be fabing my own.  I was about 2 seconds late on a $50 buy it now STUN Runner yoke a while back... still kicking myself over that one.

Two hundred for a used yoke is a decent price, actually. Three hundred for new ones is reasonable.

Perhaps, down in the South here I can still find Star Wars URs in the 450 to 750 range depending on quality.  If I'm going to spend 350 for a yoke and bezel I may as well spend a bit more and get the boards and a cab to template off of, perhaps even a vector monitor that hasn't bit the dust yet.  I am really starting to lean that way anyway but just haven't pulled the trigger yet as I have my eyes peeled for something else.  I'm not comfortable with Ram's pricetag but that doesn't mean that it isn't legitimate.  I just don't feel it's legit because I can't separate my opinions of the service from the opinions of the product.

You should really try KLOV for these kind of things.  Most of the members here are mame users, and rarely have access to original hardware.
KLOV handles more original parts/cabs, and I've had a lot of luck finding what I need there.

Just a quick search found me this:

Thanks Chad, I'll be making my pilgrimage next weekend but I don't think I'll be coming back with a complete cab so once I see what I'm working with I'll for sure shoot you a note.

Hey Chuck, you don't have to pay Klov $2 if you set up a username and then get a recommendation from a member.

Mercy buckets.  I'm gonna pay the two stink' bucks but probably only the day I decide I really need to PM somebody over there.  I'm registered as Le Chuck (huge surprise) if you have a change of heart (or whatever you call that piece of rot where your heart should be  ;D)

You're in.  Just make sure you post over there about the core I7 and widescreen lcd you're putting in that spaceballs cabinet - keeps 'em awake over there.

I was actually going to steal all the pics off the Reversing Rally Cockpit refurb thread but post them in reverse order documenting my quest to turn a worthless SW Cockpit into a custom clip-arted rally masterpiece.  >:D

Reading this thread, I'm listening to Dave sing Hot for Teacher....and can't help finding some obtuse correlation.
