Hi all,
I have a similar cabinet and LCD like the one below and would like to make a bezel.

How do I do this? What materials to use etc.???

I've come up with a pretty foolproof way to do it using MDF. First, cut your bezel to size so it fits in your cab and covers the already-mounted screen. Mark one side or the other as the outward facing one. Then take an adjustable square, and place the short edge against the edge of the screen as in the picture. Slide the ruler until it touches the side of the cab and lock it into place.

Transfer that measurement to the bezel by putting the square against the side and sliding it down with a pencil on the edge of the ruler to mark your line.

Repeat for the other 3 sides. This method is quick and makes up for any slight inconsistencies in your monitor mounting. Now you have the lines in the proper space.
What I ended up doing was clamping some rulers on the lines and flush mounting it which left nice round corners. Then I beveled the edge.
Here's what it ended up looking like.

The picture is working now, thanks.
Another idea I had was to make a paper one from posterboard and then try hosing it down with automotive truck bed liner. I'm not sure how that would turn out but I may give it a shot next time I get some [I use that stuff a lot, and not once has it ever been to my truck bed]

one8seven, the site you're referring to doesn't seem to cotton to hotlinkers. Can you give us the page the image was originally found on, and not just the image link?
eds, your pictures were fine - and pretty sweet bezel, btw.

Just paint the glass on the back, or apply foil to it. Forget about wooden and cardboard crap.

If you 'copy and paste' the url into the address bar it works ;)
I uploaded it to Photobucket for you ;)

I decided to go with really dark plexi on my (unfinished) cab so that the image seems to float in the darkness - thus no bezel needed.
Everything I came up with for a bezel using posterboard, foamboard, etc. just didn't look right.
I love what eds1275 has done there, but I doubt my woodworking skills are up to the task, and I'm doing a rotating monitor, so that wouldn't really work for me anyway.
It's tough to get a good looking bezel with an LCD. I think the only decent looking options are what I did, what eds1275 did, or the old paint the back of the glass around the monitor and then put the monitor real close to the glass trick. ;)

Thanks for uploading it Turvey!!!
Guess my woodworking skills are as well too minor...so think the way to go is painting the glass or foiling it like Blanka suggested.
Can anyone post some (working  ) pictures of their results?

Check my website on how it looks. Will post a close-up soon.

I just used dark glass and then put artwork stuck to the front.

my cocktail is in pieces right now but to frame the lcd i used custom cut picture mat. basically you go to like a Michaels and have them custom make you a picture mat frame specifying the opening and the thickness of all the edges. not a picture frame mind you but the mat. basically the mat is black hard cardboard.
