This is an example from another move list:

This is the one I've made and plan to use, make sure you zoom in:

Photobucket (low resolution, can't read the moves)

I would really apreciate your input about any mistake I could have done in the move list.
Please let me know what you think.
Please contact me if you wish to use it for your arcade since, it's not the final version, it's not the original resolution and it's 26 inches wide (instead of 25).

I was trying to look at the image in your first link and got pop-ups and Avast went nutz, so, sorry, I can't risk looking at this man. The image host must have some shady links on the page.
-
If possible, I would put the names of the special moves in there.
Also, but this is just my preference, I would use arrow symbols instead of B,F,D,U

Will do.

Well, I don't think there's room for the names of the moves. If I put them there, the text will be too small in my opinion. It's already going to be hard to read at this point since the screen is pretty bright relative to text and so will blind the text.
And for the arrows, that was actually my first plan. But after experimenting, I find that it's very confusing if you're not on the left side. I think the letters are more universal in terms of left and right.

The problem with arrows is that they won't be correct if you turn to face the opposite direction.

Too busy for me. If you have your favorites in MK you probably know the moves. If not a chart will probably not help you that much.

Ditto, if you want to list the moves may as well go in depth and not use any codification. I'd make a companion pamphlet that is on a chain attached to the cab, laminated 3x5 custom printed cards for each character bound on a keyring would work. That would give you room on one side for art and bio too. Then your guest can flip through, pick a winner, try to memorize a few moves, and then you destroy him with high punches and upper cuts while he's uselessly jerking the stick in weird arcs and holding down 3 buttons at once.

I love it! I agree with the above posts that it is busy but it is that way out of necessity to fit all characters and moves in. Some friends that come over to play my cab haven't played MK in years, being able to use something like this as a "refresher" would be amazing. I would like to get a printount of this and use on my cab if you don't mind ebo. Nice work! :applaud:
P.S. my screen name is a reference to MK back in my Genesis days. See it?

I'd start checking it again carefully... don't have time to look at it all, but, for some of the moves like Liu Kang's fatality on MK1, it's not REQUIRED to hold block (I know most people find it easier) but only the circular motion is really required. Uh, also, for Liu Kang on MK2, you have the circular motion backwards... you must rotate the stick in reverse to pull of the cartwheel/uppercut in MK2. Uh, Jax's head smash fatality in MK2 needs a release of the Low Punch at the end. Scorpion's fatality on MK1 should be called "Toasty" or something similar as "Hellfire" is one of his moves later in the series, and you need to be about sweep distance away or slightly more. You probably wanna put distances for every MK1 fatality. Sorry, can't check all these, but I think you should look at each one a bit closer man.
There's so many resources on the net for these moves, I'd just cross-reference them and if 3 out of 4 have the same move and you can make it work on the machine or Mame then it's likely correct.
I myself wouldn't need any of the characters on a bezel move list except MK1 and MK2, because I don't have the others, but if I used these I would likely use a separate one for each machine instead of a unified one. A nice idea for the MK enthusiast that has all the games in one cabinet, though.

We'll wait until it's all corrected. Is your cab 25" wide from the inside? And how high can it be displayed?

Thanks for pointing them out. Would TMRK be the "Definitive MK Source" as they claim?

I've only watched a few vids on YouTube by them, so I'm not sure. I'd just search using Google for arcade Mortal Kombat moves. Here's one site:
http://www.mksecrets.net/indexeng.php (http://www.mksecrets.net/indexeng.php)
Just click the game on the left and then "special moves" in the list on the right after that loads. These should be most of what you need, but they still may have an error or two.

yes, it's 25" inside and about 27.5" tall (the area for my bezel that is).

You know what? I have the official BradyGames player's guides! hehe. I guess I should go with that.

Sounds good... I have a couple of those myself. Sometimes there are still a couple of the listings in those that are wrong or modifiable.

any progress with this yet ebo?

Nope. But just now a friend of mine will help me with that.

You might try making the headings "Special Moves" and "Finishers" in bold to separate them visually. May make it a bit easier when trying to find the moves.
-
Im a little confused on the list.
For example you have Rain, who's only playable on the console games; and Noob Saibot, who while playable in the arcade version via Juggernaut and Zeus hacks, doesn't have those finishers.
I think all the MKs on 1 bezel is too much, focus on a per game basis IMO

any real MK fan(:P) will instantly reverse the arrows as they read them and know an arrow pointing right is forward. thats how it is in the new MK
