Im sorry for asking this but ive been out of the mame scene for like 10 years now. so I forgot alot of stuff. anyway what im asking is my pacman coctail only runs vertical games. I used romlister to create a list to only show these vertical files. however what i really want is to fully separate the vertical games. why should i use 40 gigs of space for 30 games. thats stupid. I just want the vertical ones. is there any way to do this (like separate them) and keeping the other files that those vertical games that they may depend on as well. I cant do it by hand because some games depend on other files.

I did some more searching and found a script. its old, but its a start. it pulls all your vertical roms into its own directory. my issue now is its exe file that runs the script doesnt work with 64 bit windows. so im still stuck.

i did the same thing u did.Romlister also has the option to create a batch file to separate the roms based on the list you create. You can also use that to separate artwork as i did with hyperspin, but then a great guys at the HS forums started to create ertical HS Themes only, a that madeit alot easyer. I still have all that sorted out and it looks great on a cocktail cab i have. Pm me i might be able to help you out. ;)

Thanks for the information everyone. i didnt see the option in romlister to move them. thats really odd. I will look again. I will also check out the tutorial thanks.

it's not an option in romlister, which explains why you didn't see it. ;)
the option in romlister is to create new list which is a batch file, and that batch file is what moves the roms, or copies in just the snaps you need, or whatever.

oh ok. I understand now. thanks for the clarification.
