Hi guys,
I have seen this pic of a control panel that has an easy open style. I would like to do this with my panel but not sure what I need to buy or how it is done/works. Could you please shed some light on this?
Thanks

My first control panel opened like that.
I used cabinet hinges from home depot. I had to use a 3/4" spacer to space the hinge off of the control panel and it worked great.
The hinges I used were like these http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10051&productId=202212846&langId=-1&catalogId=10053&MERCH=REC-_-search-2-_-NA-_-202212846-_-N&locStoreNum=6217 (http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10051&productId=202212846&langId=-1&catalogId=10053&MERCH=REC-_-search-2-_-NA-_-202212846-_-N&locStoreNum=6217) but not that expensive

Thanks for the reply buddy, they look very similar to hinges that are in my kitchen cabinets. Do you have any pics of the hinges in place and how does the panel stay in place I am a bit worried that with some frantic play the panel may lift up.

Yeah they're the same hinges you would use for some kitchen cabinet doors.
heres a pic of them on my old control panel

You can also use a piano hinge to accomplish this.
For holding the panel shut, I used hold down clamps, kinda like these http://www.twistedquarter.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=219_225&products_id=40&zenid=3csohgmfaururkf95s7ike0u84 (http://www.twistedquarter.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=219_225&products_id=40&zenid=3csohgmfaururkf95s7ike0u84)
but you have to be able to access them from underneath to open them. I had a section cut out on the bottom of my control panel so that I can reach up through the coin door and unclamp them.
I guess alternately, you can use magnets or even velcro to hold it down.
I have left my unclamped mant times and it was ok.

Thank you for this mate its really helped me out. I think I will get some magnet connector to keep it in place.
