Title: uVC wiring question

Got a uVC for a mame cab project.  Im a little confused by how the wiring is supposed to be done...

 Monitor is WG-4901. It has a separate 6pin section and a 3pin section, for the video inputs. 

 UVC lists connecting vsync & hsync, but doesnt state negative or positive.
Later it shows dip switches which can be adjusted to use either pos or neg...

Monitor Pins:
---------------------
x  neg hsync
x  neg vsync
x  gnd
---------------------
x  pos h sync
x  pos v sync
x  gnd
x  blu
x  grn
x  red
---------------------

 Im guessing I have to set Dip8 to: separate h/v sync,  then set dip 6 & 7 to the sync i decided to use?  (positive or neg based on monitor pins)   It shows you can select either pos or neg. sync.  Is there any advantage or disadvantage to using one or the other... if my monitor has inputs for either???

 Currently theres a game PCB in there wired to the 3pin negative-syncs, and nothing on the pos syncs.  Which leads me to think I should stick to the neg terminals, and set the dips to neg.

 Im pretty sure the ground wire goes on the 6 pin connector (video ground), not the 3pin, which im guessing is Sync ground?)  ...and the 3pin connector does not get connected to anything.. correct?

The norm for is the the signal to be normally high and for the sync pulse to go negative from this point down to 0V or ground. {negative sync}

Some professional equipment and some older consumer equipment require the sync to be normally at the low voltage and for the pulse to go positive {positive syncs}

there is no advantage to one or the other.

some people say using a separate h/v sync signal is better, but using a composite signal the monitor just separates the sync using a circuit and sends it to the appropriate horizontal or vertical circuitry anyways. no advantage there either.

it's more or less there to be able to work with anything. high low, composite or separate.

grounds should all be the same. if your RGB header plug you have is all one piece (6 position) then switch the board to positive sync, otherwise you will have to chop the plug (or rewire) to work with neg

if it's the 4+3, 2 part plug, you can go either way, by plugging in whichever the board is configured for.
