Title: Power supply to outlet?
Post by: davellaman on September 19, 2003, 04:30:37 pm
Ok, this is my first time building an arcade.  I am building a dedicated UMK3 cab.  I have built/repaired many computers, but there seems to be a big difference is power supplies between computers and dedicated arcades.  What do I need to get that will connect the power supply to a power outlet?

You're building a real UMK3 machine?  You'll need an arcade power supply.  There's a way to use a PC one, you have to match the voltages on the correct wires to the corresponding ones on the PCB.

i have an arcade power supply.

I found what I was looking for....

my question now is.... could I used the power cord from a pc for a power supply for an arcade.  Terry mentions in the description the one he is selling is "clean" because it has a filter, are power cords for pc's clean?

The cords themselves are fine, but AFAIK you'll need a filter.
