Title: Playstation emulator
Post by: said7 on September 19, 2003, 11:37:46 am
Is there a playstation emulator that runs ps1 backups off of the CD drive.
I remember bleem a while back but that pretty much sucked.

Does it exist?

Tried Google lately? (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=playstation+emulator&btnG=Google+Search) ;)

(I hear ePSXe is supposed to be pretty good...)

ePSXe is one of (if not) the best PSX emulators about, try the forums at www.ngemu.com for more info or also try the search on this site, there has been plenty of ePSXe threads come up over the past months.

I need to get on their forums.  They don;t accept hotmail addresses.

I found a glitch.  In NHL FaceOff '97 the scores don't show.

Yeah you should check out their forum.  I am willing to bet a certain combination of plugins/options will do the trick.  I have stuck with Pete's Direct 3d plugin and eternal SPU and so far have had no problems.

yeah,
I agree with everyone. ePSXe IS the bestplaystation emu. It will boot CD-ROM, run ISO's, even just run the bios so you can use the cool CD player or mem card manager.
as for backups, yes defanatly. it can even run 1/2 recorded cd's with only slight graphical problems. (this is how it worked for me)

don't bother with forums when it comes to this,

hope this helped,

If you can find a working version of Connectix Virtual Game Station, it does a good job as well.  No graphics upgrades, but it picks up any games that Epsxe might have problems with.

What do you mean 1/2 recorded CDs? Like you only copied half the CD? That isn't how things work. Its not like having half the CD just gives you everything at half quality. Half a CD isn't like having a half of a can of soda.
