Title: Happ vision pro 2938 / kortek horizontal collapse
Post by: Arm123 on December 19, 2011, 03:47:51 pm
Had a buddy drop off a VP 2938 that was in a golf game of his.

Did a quick visual inpection and saw that it must have been serviced for this before.  HOT and flyback all seemed to be re-soldered.  So I Reflowed a few solder joints and fired it up.

Displayed a 3" vertical line up and down with the edges being wavey.  I read a similar thread about this here:
http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=104885.0 (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=104885.0)

HOT tests good, but i dont have a replacement to swap on hand.

Any ideas ?

HOT's will test good, but fail under load.

as for that particular monitor, i don't recall if I fixed it or not. It's not hanging around the shop... but I did end up chopping up the cabinet. I'll ask the boss tomorrow if he recalls what happened to the monitor (re-purposed to another game or trashed) and i'll get back to you here.

Thanks brother... much appreciated.

Be interesting to know what was / if the HOT was being driven to hard etc...
