Title: Any source for lasercut or pre-fabbed wood control panels?
Post by: Dragonman73 on December 19, 2011, 08:44:18 am
Just curious, I was wondering if there was a source for "assemble" yourself wood control panels that are pre-cut and covered in black formica?

I don't need the wiring done...just a CP with all the holes cut out and all i have to do is put it together? I have seen the ready to assemble cabinets but haven't see the CP by itself.

And i'm not interested in X-arcade  :)

I don't think you'd be able to get a laser to cut MDF thick enough for a CP without setting things on fire or at least scorching things really good!  I think the accepted method for cutting CP's with an automated tool would be on a CNC mill.

I used to work at a greeting card factory (for 11 years) and used to laser cut 1/2" - 3/4" plywood for the tooling dies..so I've seen it done and we never had a fire  :) I guess that's why I threw lasercut out there as an option because it was on my mind...but your correct about cnc

laser / cnc..it doesn't matter how it's cut to me...I was just checking the options out there of CP's that already had the cutouts.
