Title: Stretch Using Hardware Grayed out in Mame32?
Post by: sgreen3827 on December 17, 2011, 11:10:47 am
I'm having issues with a tower I am running Mame32 on, the Stretch Using hardware option is grayed out and as a result some of the games are not displaying full size.  I have run mame32 on several other computers with no issues but for some reason I am missing something on this unit, is there a driver or program I may be missing that allows the hardware stretching?  The hard drive is small at 120g and has less than 10 percent free space could this be causing my issues?  I had previously been using a system running windows 7 and everything was great but I had to switch to the xp tower as windows 7 wouldnt play nice resolution wise with a new Makvision multisync I picked up .  Any suggestions are appreciated!

Steve

I'll give you two hints:

- it's hardware related

- read the MAME32 help file

Problem worked itself out.  Hard drive was 9 years old and maxed on space so I decided to put in a new larger drive with a clean install of XP...after installing the new drive, re-installing XP and all the drivers, mame32 and maximus everything is working 100% as it should!

Usually hwstretch unavailable means the hardware doesn't have enough video memory, or/and the drivers don't support the feature. Probably the new OS installation found the right video drivers, or you manually installed them in the process.
