Title: Cam and Dowel Size Question
Post by: mhermann on December 16, 2011, 07:31:54 pm
I am building a monster sized upright cabinet and need to be able to take it apart. I am going to use cam and dowels for the first time. The cab is being built out of 3/4" MDF. I am not sure what size I need. I was looking at this page here:

Can anyone offer any advice or suggestions.

Thanks

those 12.5mm deep cam locks will work fine with 3/4" MDF, as long as you are ok with the lock being slightly recessed after installing it.  One thing you are going to want to buy is a self centering doweling jig to get the holes nice and straight in the side of the panel.  Are you cutting your parts with a CNC machine?
