Sigh. Now that I have 4 machines- it seems like one of them is always needing something.
My TOM was working beautifully when all of a sudden I believe that my Fliptronic board went bad. I just ordered up a new one from Rottendog.
Fingers crossed that will solve the problem.
I had a stuck flipper, smoke and all the fun that comes with a bad fliptronic board.
Stay tuned.
Sigh. :dunno

I'm just envious you have a Theatre of Magic! Been trying to get my hands on one of those forever now!
-
I love it. It's a really fun pin!
I've modded it like crazy too. :afro:
-
Fliptronic boards are super easy to fix. I guess you'd rather throw your money away on :censored:
-
I'm sure anything is easy to fix when you don't have two kids at home, and never get any sleep. ::) :afro:
-
If it is easy to fix for him then it MUST be easy to fix for you ;) Duh! Didn't you know this?
-
time to throw at this hobby. ::)
I need more of this :P

MEH. the game fired up for a second with my new board then PHFT!-- burning smell and it shut down.
So far I've tried everything I can think of--
replaced the coil
switched the opto flipper switches (reversed left and right- no effect negative or positive)
replaced the fliptronic board with a new one.
I may have to call someone in. I can't define where the burning smell is coming from- but it doesn't seem to be the fliptronic board.
EDIT--- I got it all working.
I think that lifting the playfield up and down made something loose. I just re checked all of the major connections and then success. I'm back in business. Sigh. :afro:

My TOM hates me.
Now the flashers dropped dead.
In the last few weeks I replaced a flipper coil, a fliptronic board, the Game Rom (upgrade to the latest version) and now the flashers crapped out.
:hissy: :soapbox:
-
ALL the flashers are gone?
Check the coin door interlock switch... a wire could be off of it.
Check F111 and BR3
-
He fuse is OK....but I'll see about BR3...... :banghead:
Thanks for the advice.
-
I've tried everything....and finally caved and bought a new $300....yes $300 :banghead: :banghead: Powerboard from Rottendog.
Fingers crossed this works........I hope to install it this weekend. :badmood:
I hate spending money on "functional" stuff like this. Meh. :'(

Well, this gives you an opportunity to learn to fix the old boards when you have a second (i've got 3 kids, i know how that goes). But at least you can figure out how to fix the power board and fliptronic board and then have a spare sitting around for the time when the next one goes. Because something always goes wrong on a pinball machine.

Yep. I've had that rationalizing the purchases conversation with myself already... :lol
