It's that time of year again!
http://www.humblebundle.com/ (http://www.humblebundle.com/)
Unlike previous years you won't be getting one good game and 4 you hate or have never heard of. All games are awesome this year!
You get:
Jamestown (Awseome bullet hell shooter)
Bit Trip Runner
Super Meat Boy
Shank
NightSky
If you dontate more than $5.35 you also get Cave Story+ and Gratuitous Space Battles
All of these games are awesome, they are drm free and you can get them as a download or via steam, all of them will run great on your MAME cab (except maybe GSB) and most importantly I like them, and I don't like anything.
Like usual you will get the opportunity to donate some or all of the cost to charity. This time it's child's play or the red cross.
So go buy em now!
Oh an a personal appeal... If you are a windows user please donate a decent amount of money. The average windows user is paying two bucks less than the average Mac user and 4 bucks less than the average linux user. Windows users are not cheap! Please prove it!

I've bought every bundle. Last time I paid $15, but things are tight, so I paid $5.50. I don't really care much about the games, since I already have the big titles to begin with, but I like donating when I can. Sometimes I discover a fun game, though.
-
Each bundle usually has at least one that is really fun. I buy them all just to support the effort. Plus If I spend a few bucks and get one really fun game it's worth it. Even if I only spend a few hours on it. Osmos, Trine, World of Goo, Braid, Machinarium, Steel Storm and Darwinia. All great games from previous bundles.
Now Gratuitous Space battles and Super Meat boy.
Don't hate, it's worth a few $$ for some entertainment and it supports indie development and some good charities.
-
I've yet to regret buying any of these bundles, they always turn me onto some really great games (I was consumed by the Binding of Isaac for several weeks). Between indie bundles and Steam sales I have unintentionally become a PC gamer. This current bundle has a lot of "big name" indie games I have been wanting to try... was going to post about it myself but you beat me to it.
-
I've got codes for a couple of their previous bundles and wasn't impressed with any of the games I sampled. :P
I have as well and was less than impressed as well. The fact that this one has my endorsement should tell you something.
-
Ordered, thanks. Been wanting to buy Jamestown and Super Meat Boy for a while now.
-
I bought this bundle specifically for Shank. I liked the demo, but didn't want to pay $15. I already bought SMB and Jamestown earlier.
I keep intending to buy the bundles as gifts so I can gift away doubles for situations like this, but never remember to.

Same here. I already have SMB, but saw the chance to finally pick up Shank for cheap.
-
I bought em.
I dont trust the "who paid the highest average" ---That which is odiferous and causeth plants to grow---, cause some linux guy donates 5 grand and the rest skimp. I paid $5.16 to beat the average. I already have all the other bundles, I prolly wont play these either but as an indy dev, I like to give a LITTLE back, heh

They just added the games from Humble bundle 3 to the current bundle:
VVVVVV, Crayon Physics Deluxe, Cogs, And Yet It Moves, and Hammerfight

Do people that have already bought the bundle have access to these? I'm not particularly interested in any of them, but hey... free games. :)
-
Yeah, they are added to the current bundle, so you get them.
-
Can I give away my code for the previous bundle since I have it already (Cogs, VVVVVV, etc)?
-
Yeah, I'm pretty sure you can gift codes.
Just post it to one of your friends on the site.
-
first come, first served, if it works.... 5Q066-ZVN9R-CXQ0B... HIB #3 on Steam. (Whoever uses it, post here so we know). Adding the games from previous bundles is cool, but I am pretty sure I am going to buy every new bundle anyway.
-
I just bought it, a lot of games for $5.20 (I paid the minimum for the extra 2 games).
-
For some reason I don't add the bundles to my steam account...I might someday but I think I prefer a local install over a managed one if I can help it.

Steam sucks. It's nice for direct-download, but it sure would be nicer if I could start the game without all the steam interface overhead. Also steam is worthless for arcade cabs and some of these games are great for cabs otherwise.
What I'm doing is keeping the original installers/zips in a folder and then I put a text file in there with all the steam keys. That way I've got em for backup just in case.
-
Its not a one or the other type of situation. I usually activate it on Steam and also download all the installation files.
-
Man, as someone who is not a traditional PC gamer (but is a Valve fanboy, no doubt), I love Steam. Not having to look for discs or files, everything updates automatically, and it puts all my games in a nice list so I can have massive guilt about my backlog (I will play you someday, Braid!). Probably not for everyone, but I love those Steam keys.

Why do you say this? I don't yet have a cab running, but every arcade like game I get on Steam I add to Hyperspin in preparation.
-
Because the steam interface isn't joystick friendly, some games require a net connection to play, ect....
I want an exe that I can just link to and play, sometimes steam gives you that, and sometimes it doesn't.
-
More proof that steam sucks. They claim you can play YOUR games in offline mode, but that's not true at all. Steam appears to be down right now (just got this error) so I can't play any of my games.
-
Did you set Steam to play in offline mode, because I've done that before and it works great.
-
Yeah it is. Sometimes it puts up a dialog offer play in offline mode, but many times it doesn't and just bails out if there is some unhandled network error or there are issues with the steam servers.
-
Andy...what game did you try to play in that pic?
-
Wow! This seems like a REALLY good deal!
-
Andy...what game did you try to play in that pic?
I think it was Defense Grid. I couldn't even start steam to set anything to offline mode.
Granted this does not occur often but it makes me angry beyond belief when it does.
-
Darn! They all need Windows XP or above! That puts my 98 arcade PC out.
