It is apparently a pirate NES clone with 3 built in games Tengen Tetris, Pinball, and a DDR clone.

Well this one is an entire nes unit with the games built in. Kind of like that Namco joystick, and that Activision TV Games thing. I figured for $10 I could give it a try.

For $10 you could get a psx dance pad from toys'r'us (or the like) which might be better quality than this kids mat.

I am not saying you shouldn't try that, but just noting there is probably a better solution to playing DDR :)
(whoa, is that a double negative sentance?)

I know all the other things I could have done. Really I mostly just ordered that to see if it would get any use. If it does, then I may buy "Pump it Up" for PC, or a Playstation + a DDR game (whichever is cheaper).
