I recently bought my first jukebox, a Rowe R87. I plan on doing a fairly complete refurb replacing most or all of the modules, although it was in working condition when I bought it. When I bought the unit, it worked okay at the seller's location. However, when I got it home a couple of hours later and tried to play any record, they seem to play at a slower speed. Any idea why they don't play at regular speed?

Hello Jim,
What country do you live in? just want to know if you are in the USA with 60hz or Europe with 50hz.
Check the pulley on the motor to check if is one of the stepped dual speed type (bright aluminium) or the single speed (red aluminium).
If yours is the dual type then the belt should be on the larger diameter step.
Also check the belt for wear or being loose.
There was an issue with the capacitors on some of the earlier motors so check the soldering on the motor tag strip.

Thanks Alan. I'll check that soon. I'm in the USA, 60hz. Right now I can't get inside, because I am painting the cabinet and have many areas masked off, but as soon as I can, I'll get inside to check those pulleys and belt.
