i think i like this. could someone get me started on the road to doing this? my mame machine hasn't worked in years and i would like to do it with this, unless it won't work or there are better suggestions. i'll attach some pics of what i have. thanks.

ok. after reading some posts, maybe not. can somebody point me in the right direction with what i have? looks like i need an old computer and an arcade vga card? thanks.

Number 1 you have posted in the wrong place. Put your request in the main forum and many more people will see it. It looks like you have an old jpac and an optipac interface. The help given will depend on what is not working. An arcade vga card will not help with an old computer as it is a pcie card. How your original setup handled the monitor is important. It might have just used soft 15 to convert the signal from vga to cga for your arcade monitor. Too old a computer will not give good results with the newer versions of mame but if you just want to play classics it will be fine.
