Title: New surface tension products. Arcade table, Rubik's Cube & Happ button coasters
Post by: surface tension on November 29, 2011, 10:00:47 am
Hello

I haven't posted on the forum for some time, but am always lurking in the background taking a quick browse when time allows. We've been busy with a few product releases that I thought I would share with you guys. We hope you like them as I see this forum as the toughest audience.

Dual Arcade Table (http://www.surface-tension.net/dual-table-specification.php)
First of all, we've finally released the Dual, which is our entry-level arcade table. Same quality construction and finish, including the hide-away drawer mechanism, but a cut-down system in terms of games and other functionality associated with having a PC.

You may have seen this system if you'd dropped by our stand at R3play last year. It's taken a while to get it to production, but it's finally here.

Rubik's Cube seats (http://www.surface-tension.net/rubiks-cube-seat-storage-table.php)
Another item we had at R3play last year was the large Rubik's Cubes seats. These were never intended to go into production, but after a great response, we had to get some made. They can also be used as a side table and can be opened up and used for storage. We've got the license agreed with Rubik and are now good to go. These have also taken a little longer than expected to get to sale, but that's just the way it goes. All our products are made in the UK, so there will no doubt be some comments on the prices. But it's one of the prices we have to pay to keep it this way. Our license currently only allows us to sell these in the UK, Eire and Channel Islands.

drinkUP arcade button coasters (http://www.surface-tension.net/arcade-button-coasters.php)
Last but not least are our arcade button coasters. These have been designed to be a bit of fun and are fairly niche in the public eye, but they have gone down well so far. As you can tell, they are based on the IL button and come in 2 sets; 4player and 4colour (hey, we're English!). Melamine top with a felt underside and sold in retail packaging.

Anyway, big ups!
You guys make me want to mortage my house even more, so I can afford to have this in my living room!  :applaud:

Hi st, I really like your products.

From your site:

Quote
Measuring 45cm³ our cubes are manufactured from 15mm MDF and coated black. The labels have been Pantone-matched to look hugely authentic, so you really will be looking at a massive Rubik's Cube!

How heavy are they?

Do the colour square stickers wear off after use?

Cheers.

Thanks RetroBorg!

I'll get back to you on the weight and also update the site.

The stickers are heavy duty signwriter vinyl, so certainly shouldn't wear with reasonable use. They are also solid colour rather than printed, so you won't be seeing any white through them. If squares do become damaged for whatever reason, they can be replaced.

Great stuff Dan, I knew you'd be onto a winner if you put this kind of stuff out. :)

No, we'd be ruined! But we do ship at cost, or if the buyer wants to arrange.

In answer to RetroBorg's question... the Rubik's Cubes weigh 15Kg.

Those Rubik's Cubes seats are beautiful.

Any chance you can ship just the stickers to the US?
