Title: PS3 and Move
Post by: ark_ader on November 27, 2011, 04:26:26 pm
Amazon has a deal I am contemplating getting next week for my Christmas present that has a 320gb PS3+ BR Movie+Move Pack and a move game for £199.

Now I can get a 160gb PS3 for £159 and I get my own games.  Question is is the Move any good for small rooms?

I think of Kinect and the runway you need to play around with it (on par with the TopGuns) or is it like the Wii and you just need a few feet away.

I do not really know why I am getting a PS3, but it makes sense to buy it and it works with my X Arcade (bonus).

Anyone suggest PS3 Move as a deal clincher or is it a fad?

I figured it for a fad and went to the 160Gb model.

They are pretty cheap at the moment for us over the pond.

Well until the markets crash....

Can someone with the Move review it for us?

I have the PS3 and a Wii. So I haven't been interested in the Move.

I like playing the Kinects at my brother's and if I had an xBox I'd buy the Kinects, but I don't see the Move being so much better than a Wii that I have to buy it.

It definitely seems like they're marketing the Move for some of the bigger games like BF3 and MW3, but I just don't see any gamers using it, and I imagine your arms would get tired awful quick.

Near as I can tell, the move is just a "Wii remote" style add on for the PS3.  Not sure how many games actually use it...
I'll stick to my Wii.  :)

Personally, I don't think any of the games made specifically for the Move justify the purchase:

The final column in the spreadsheet indicates if the Move is required to play. The rest just seem just like tacked-on kludges.

Yea, and those end up being mediocre, at best.  Infuriating at worst.

That's what I'm thinking too.

But it's just speculation.

I thought the Kinicts was just a stupid gimmick. When I tried it I realized it is just a gimmick, but it’s a great gimmick. If I had an xBox I'd buy it.

I'd like a Move owner to chime in. My hopes for the Move are low, but I’m still hoping it’s better than it looks.

Well after looking at the device at a friend's house, it looks more like a wii mote.  The Eye toy camera is a nice piece of equipment and I can see that being used for more games.

All my second hand PS3 games all work with the move, and can provide extra functionality, but I am using a desktop environment and I am not sure if the device will read any input at three feet away.

I'm sure after the holidays, the game shops will have a surplus of the stuff, which I can snag for cheap.

BTW the £157 PS3 works perfectly with PS1 games, but not as compatible as my Android FPSE  ;D
