Title: Rowe R-86 Transfer (Gripper Arm)
Post by: rpucci on November 26, 2011, 08:26:27 am
My Rowe R-86 has been playing fine untill last night. On one record the transfer arm started to pick it up,but after grabbing it,it slip and went back on the turntable. The arm with no record in it continued to complete it's cycle. Then it went to another selection and grabbed that record and placed it on the turntable. It only did this once.I tried it again ,and it worked ok.

Looking at the manual,it looks like an adjustment can be made. Also looking at the arm while the record is playing,it seems a little too high above the record.I hope someone can shed some light on this. Thanks

Hello rpucci,

Sorry I don't know your name.

Check out the tone arm cam for any defects and check the tone arm adjustment as per the manual (very few adjustments on the R-84 onwards mechanism's.
Make sure that the gripper bow and cams are clean dry and not lubricated.
