Title: Pentium 70 - can I TV out?
Post by: JamIt on September 16, 2003, 08:44:01 pm
Please don't laugh too hard, but I just acquired a free Pentium 70 with 72 mb ram (yeah I know, I paid too much :))
Anyway, does anyone know if I can get a PCI video card w/ TV out that will run on this runt.
I've got old version of mame that does in fact work on this system and I'd like to make a simple panel for a gift.
Thanks,
JamIt

I should add that I'd like to just run dos (for obvious reasons).  Thanks again,
JamIt

What you would want is a S3 virge DX/GX pci video card

It does composite video out on it.

Problem is it only does 640x480

But cause it's a P1 70 you should use Vantage it's great it does ALOT of classics full speed on a 486 :)

im not sure if all the games will run at 640 x 480 as i haven't tested it on my card i tryed a few and they worked but mame did 800 x 600 in ninja spirit even tho i had it set to 640 x 480.

Hope this helps you out :) and vantage plays 80 games if i remember whcih are all classics like dig dug space invaders etc.  ;D

I wasn't aware that there was such a processor as a Pentium 70.

Checking google confirms this. Here are all the old Pentiums, and 70 is not in there.

Pentium 60
Pentium 75
Pentium 90
Pentium 100
Pentium 120

NiN^_^NiN, thanks for the info.  Haven't tried Vantage, I'll have to check it out.  Any card with SVideo?

paigeoliver, you are correct.  Its a Pentium 75.
