Title: Problem with iPac/control panel (using mala)
Post by: joe_heppy on November 13, 2011, 11:38:27 am
Hi there,

I am currently working on my arcade machine and I bought a PS2 ipac off GremlinSolutions.I have a problem where when I move the joystick or press any buttons, the buttons stick. It is not a physical problem I don't think as I have double checked the switches aren't sticking so I was wondering what else could be the problem. I am using the ipac with mala.

Any help would be most appreciated as I am going mad trying to finish this arcade machine haha!

Cheers,
Joe

If you open a text editor you can isolated the problem.   If they are sticking in there it is not Mala.   It may be faulty switches or something wrong with the ipac.

The ultimarc site has utilities to test the ipac plus info on the self test of the ipac via the leds.

Thanks for your replies  :)

Checked the switches and they aren't sticking.
Just checked the notepad and when you press the joystick it just moves the cursor once which seems normal. The buttons aren't working in notepad but they work in the panel designer that I downloaded off the ultimarc website...

I think that maybe mame/mala is configured to work with an xbox controller? Does anyone know how to turn this off?

Cheers,
Joe
