Title: Arcade vga issue
Post by: rapomstage3 on November 12, 2011, 06:09:45 pm
Ive had a mame cabinet up and running for a couple months with minimal issues. I run an arcade vga3000 on a p4 3ghz pc. So this is what happened..I acquired some mother boards through an uncle..one of which is a micro atx quad core. I wanted to test it and get it running so i wired it up to a power supply and hard drive and jumped it on. I tried connecting a monitor to it but i figure my uncle had on board video disabled so i wasnt getting any display. So..to test it i plugged in my avga and connected to the monitor(which was dumb because how could it work through the vga at 15hz) . so it didnt work. i plugged the card back into my arcade machine and now i cant get any display. The fan runs..everything powers up like it did before but i cant get a picture. Did i fry it somehow? any help is appreciated..thank you.

It was my ram! I neglected to mention that i checked to see what i was running because i was given a couple sticks. I guess i made the banks uneven or something when i put them back in. Dumb

Glad you got it running but as a suggestion slow down and only change one thing at a time that way it is easy to isolate what goes wrong. ;)
