Below I've attached an image of the CPO I've designed.
You can see it's very minimal and simple. The only thing I really wanted was some vibrant borders around the buttons on top of black, that's all. I'm also settled on a sheet of acrylic over the overlay.
My question is, does it make sense to pay $70 to have this entire thing printed, or should I try an alternative method that's cheaper?
Maybe just go with a black vinyl overlay, and print out only the purple and white pushbutton borders?
EDIT: I jus wanna stress that I'm looking for advice on this that can save money, but I don't wanna go a cheap route that will LOOK cheap either. Quality is most important to me!

First off I'd like know why $70?
What is the dimensions of it?
If you're going to put acrylic over it what material were you planning to use?
With acrylic on top you can go with gloss-laminated vinyl-adhesive-backed.
You can also go with an Emerytex-laminate on vinyl-adhesive that doesn't require an acrylic overlay.
You can get either of these for much less than $70 and the results are excellent.
Additionally you can get the button/joystick holes contour cut as well.
