I have an opportunity to pick one of these monitors up for a really good price. I know about the whole panel lottery thing and I guess I won't know if it is IPS or PVA until I get it. Doing some research online and it seems that most people think that IPS is best for graphics work because of the depth of color but I am also seeing some people that think that PVA might be a better compromise for gaming due to the faster refresh rates and less ghosting. I am sure some of you have experience with this monitor, whether yours is IPS or PVA. Is everyone happy with it? Should I spend a little more for the HP LP2065? Thanks and sorry if this question is repetitive.

Going to pick it up for $70. Hopefully it works out.

Actually IPS is better for gaming.
It is around 8-16ms of response time including input lag.
With PVA it can go up to 3 frames or 50ms
Either choice, your brain will compensate for some lag/response time. Your arm is at the right position when you want isn't it? Your brain has to take action for that a few milliseconds in advance too!
PVA is better for black level. If you play lots of PacMan, get a PVA panel.
In case of the Dell lottery: the IPS is around 1:700 contrast, the PVA around 1:1200.
