Title: DK Jr. audio issue/buzzing from speaker
Post by: SlammedNiss on November 03, 2011, 01:46:34 am
Ever since I've owned this upright, there has been a buzzing from the speaker. It seems to have gotten worse over the years and is pretty loud now. I recorded a sound clip and have it posted below. BTW, game is all original as far as I can tell.

Does anybody here know of a remedy or where I can find an answer?

Bump:

After some research, I came across THIS  (http://www.coinopspace.com/forum/topics/nintendo-popeye-upright-has)thread that seemed to have the exact same issue. My membership is still pending so I am unable to contact the OP. Is anybody here a member there that could possibly put me in touch with the OP? If so, please post or contact me via PM.

Could just need new caps. Get a cap kit for it and replace the old ones.

The Nintendo hum is a constant on all the cabs.  You'll never get rid of it, but doing a cap kit on the audio board may help.

I've never done a cap replacement. Pretty straight forward?

Thank you! I've been wondering if I should be concerned. Guess not!

Had a friend do the cap replacement. Absolutely no buzz at all now. Nice to be able to leave it on and not get annoyed from the buzzing.
