Title: Painting bat-tops and dustwashers?
Post by: Seith on November 01, 2011, 12:16:13 pm
What kind of paint is best to use on bat-tops and dustwashers?  I am looking to use the following paint to coat my bat-tops and dustwashers in:

http://www.alsacorp.com/products/eclipse/eclipse_prodinfo.htm (http://www.alsacorp.com/products/eclipse/eclipse_prodinfo.htm)

The paint can be combined with a candy coat to have the color change from black to whatever the candy coat color is.  Also, what is the best method for applying the paint to the bat-tops and dustwashers?

We've sprayed sticks and dustwashers before using Plasti-kote spray. Creates a flexible coating so does not flake, using the associated sealant. Not sure if it's available elsewhere, but it's commonly found in the UK.

So if I coat with the spray, it should be fine to paint?

Plasti-kote is a type of spray paint, so is available in a range of colours, and the flexibilty is built into the paint. I suppose car paints like it sounds you intended to use should work OK if sealed properly with a lacquer, though may still be susceptible to chipping or flaking.

There is also plasti-dip if you want to dip it :)  I saw this thread and tried it on one of my happ sticks and so far so good.  Who knows how long it will last though.
