hey guys, i am looking at getting a ridge racer cabinet (broken board) and then doing a mame conversion.
I built a standard cabinet (stand up) over a year ago, but as you do, ive been on and off fiddling with it since then ::)
But one of the main things I cant find out is how much i can dismantle this cabinet, as i need to get this through a standard door to get it in to my shed in the garden.
door width being around 66CM (approx)
Does anyone how easily these can dismantle ?
Once i can confirm i can fit in and hopefully get it, no doubt i'll be back with more questions about keeping the controls or going with a pc wheel
thanks in advance

hey thanks for finding that, quite useful.
it states 81cm width of the machine, so its not looking like it could go straight through like that, but just wondered if anyone had dismantled this enough to get it through the door?
as the front section (which splits from the seat) can have the steering wheel taken off as well as the front over lay, so would of though that would probably get it down to under 81cm at the front..
door width is 75cm, obviously you have the jiggling and diagnols etc
not sure if its worth the risk now :/

I don't have a pic of the cab you are looking at getting, but most cabs I have and have come across (including some right behemoths) break down sufficiently to go through a 'standard' door - BUT a standard door is wider than the 66cm you quote, at least in the UK (they are a minimum of 31" / 78cm) and the biggest cabs I have (a 33" showcase and a 2-player DDR) both fit after minimal dis-assembly.
edit: I should have read the PDF!

If you measure from the back bottom corner diagonally to the widest point (around the control panel) and it's less than the width of your door you SHOULD be OK ;)

I had a different version, but you should be able to remove all of the plastic pieces to get the cab down to the width of the actual wood cabinet. That is still going to be pushing it on the width though since those have 33" monitors (at least the one I had did.
