as i was reading people were putting "service buttons" in their setups as well, what exactly do these do and how many are recommended? I was looking at the JPAC diagram and it only shows five buttons, how do you wire the 6th?  Am i missing anything else? Sorry for all the newb questions, just want to make sure i dont miss anything

Thanks
Ryan

Fallacy,

Thanks for the reply, i guess i should have stated that i am using a jamma arcade cabinet, can i use the speakers that are currently in there or do i need PC specific? also do i need to purchase a new wiring harness if so where is the best place?

Thanks
Ryan

Maybe, I would not know how to do it, doubt they would sound that great anyway. You can buy pc speakers that come with a sub and external volume control for cheap. Logitech makes some good computer speakers. I always like the Logitech Z-2300

With the jpac, you have to use a pc speaker setup because the speakers need to have something to drive them so its easiest to just hack in some pc speakers.
the jpac also handles 8 buttons per players. it handles the first 3 buttons through the standard jamma cabling and then buttons 4-8 through screw terminals on the board. so you would need to run some more cables for those extra buttons.

for the speaker: if you want to retain the installed speaker, you can but you will need to go from your speaker output on the pc into some sort of amp for driving the speakers and then wire the output of that amp to the spkr teriminals on the jpac.

This depends on the cabinet though as some JAMMA cabinets already have amps for the speakers installed.
