Title: Gone, thank you!
Post by: Chicken McNobody on October 20, 2011, 11:31:40 am
As I had promised in the original posting for this as a project cabinet, I am giving away the empty cabinet since I have been able to move some of the parts separately.

Here is what you are getting:

An original Atari Missile Command cabinet that has had some refurbished work started but never 100% completed.  I had to fix the rear corners on both sides, and I never got around to the finishing stage of smoothing it out and re-cutting the slots for the T-molding.  You can see in the picture the bottom rear corner is a different wood, it is the same on the other side.  I did fix and finish the rear bottom panel where the door rests, so that is basically done.

There is nothing inside other than the lighting wires (me thinks) and the monitor shelf.  There is no board, monitor, wiring, power supply, control panel, coin door, marquee (but the marquee retainer is still there), monitor bezel, plexi, or lock in the back door panel.  There is the back door panel, just no lock for it, there is a clean hole for installing your own lock though.

So you are getting a shell of a cabinet and nothing more.  Although it is free, so you can't have too much issue.  I just wanted to make sure you knew what you were getting in to before you committed to this.

I will take this as a first response first reserve basis.  I will help load it, but you must be sure to have a truck/van big enough to pick it up.  If you are close by and don't have access to a van/truck, for $30 I would be willing to deliver.  I would prefer not to, but I would make it if that is the only option.

Thanks for looking, and good luck!

Bump. . .

I am surprised that there has been no interest of free cab, and I would hate for it to go to waste.  If there is no interest this week, in the trash it goes.  It is an original Missile Command cabinet, and I am not a purist to speak of, but I still would hate for this to go the way of the dump.

That would be great, thank you!

Between midterms and starting a new class, my mind has been elsewhere lately.

No prob, it is cool you are offering it up for free. If I wasn't one state over (IN) I would grab it myself. Hope it finds a good home! If not, you tried!  :applaud:

Bump

Wow, I didn't think it would be this tought to GIVE this away.  I have had 2 people from CL stand me up after we set up a time and day, go figure.  If I don't have an owner by Thursday 11/17/2011, it is going to the curb to be picked up with the trash.  It is not worth the headache right now to continue to stress this out. . .

Thanks to all that have been trying to help find a home, I do appreciate it.

Finally gone!  Can't believe it took that long, and tonight it was going out in the trash.  Great timing by the new owner.
