Hey all... had to do a rebuild of my arcade cabinet, and now I am experiencing a problem I can't seem to fix. My PC is an HP Athlon 3200 with an ATI 2600HD Pro, outputting via S-Video to a Sony Trinitron Tube 27" TV. I am running Mame .143u7 32-bit on Windows XP with HyperSpin 1.2 as a front end.
My issue is this, when I play games such as Galaga, PacMan, etc... the screen is fullscreen as it should be, but the borders are gone and the game has been forced to display from TV border to TV border, making the games look really out of whack. Its playable, but it isn't the resolution/aspect ratio that it should be. I thought I read to maybe disable hwstretch, but that didn't help.
Any ideas how I get back my black borders so the game displays looks normal? I prefer my Galaga with borders :)
Thanks!

check this:

115 -[no]keepaspect / -[no]ka
116
117 Enables aspect ratio enforcement. When this option is on, the game's
118 proper aspect ratio (generally 4:3 or 3:4) is enforced, so you get the
119 game looking like it should. When running in a window with this option
120 on, you can only resize the window to the proper aspect ratio, unless
121 you are holding down the CONTROL key. By turning the option off, the
122 aspect ratio is allowed to float. In full screen mode, this means that
123 all games will stretch to the full screen size (even vertical games).
124 In window mode, it means that you can freely resize the window without
125 any constraints. The default is ON (-keepaspect).

Enabled keep aspect, that fixed it. Love BYOAC!
Thanks much!
Have a good night.

How is the quality outputting to that Sony via s-video? Any drawbacks that you've noticed?
