+1 on Astraweb. I signed up on James' recommendation a few months ago and it's suited my needs.

ive been using newsgroups since mame came out.   I have had various ones...but for the last past 4 years now ive been using USENETSERVER.  they have 1100+ day file retention and haven't had too many problems with missing files.

I also bought newsbin back when 4.0 came out..its a binary dloader.  I HATE AGENT.  Im having a very hard time getting used to version 6.xx of newsbin thou..

How about Supernews?  Based on the review on this link, sounds like Supernews is comparable quality wise as Giganews, except its a lot cheaper.  Only 11.99 compared to 29.99

Anyone using Supernews?

If you are looking for Usenet access that is less expensive than Giganews, but with the same technical quality, Supernews is absolutely the best option. You get all the redundency and support levels of Giganews at only $11.99 !!!

+1 for supernews. 30 connections maxes out my 100mb line.  astraweb were always flaky for me...
