Title: Updating the cabinet
Post by: SirPoonga on October 14, 2011, 04:47:39 pm
Well, after 10 years I think it is time to update the cabinet.  If anyone wants to see some old school BYOAC go here:

So many new products out there, like flush mounted trackballs and spinners to give a nice clean look.

Also, I will be getting a HTPC and I think I will put mame on that.  I would need to make some simple wireless controllers.  What are your guy's suggestions to go wireless?  Xbox 360 controller with the wifi dongle?  I'm debating just to go with a xbox controller for the time being until I make something.

Edit: This looking interesting.  Combine arcade with arduino, I'm for that.

Though all they did was take a mega and put a bluetooth module on that.  I have a regular arduino and a bluetooth shield, I might give this a shot to try the concept out.

you can use xbox 1 wireless controllers too with xbcd drivers under windows.  you might find that cheaper and easier to hack than a 360 controller.  you can either hack the cable and just put a usb connector on the radio receiver or else they sell a usb to xbox 1 dongle for a few bucks.
