Title: video card out to component in on tv?
Post by: 2panther on October 14, 2011, 08:38:05 am
whats the best way to do this?

I've found both this...

http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=104&cp_id=10419&cs_id=1041901&p_id=2398&seq=1&format=2 (http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=104&cp_id=10419&cs_id=1041901&p_id=2398&seq=1&format=2)

and this...

http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10235&cs_id=1023504&p_id=2508&seq=1&format=2 (http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10235&cs_id=1023504&p_id=2508&seq=1&format=2)

or is there another "best practice" way?

Those are not exactly what you want. You probably would be best served by going with a card that comes with it's own adapter, like this:

nice find!

Will that card allow to me to run ROMs that use the graphics card? I'd like to be able to run anything I throw at it.

your computer's CPU is responsible for 99% of the performance in MAME, not your videocard.

the card was offered up as it comes with it's own specific adapter.

those universal ones are often a crap shoot whether they will work with your tv/card combination. the videocards that come with their own adapters DO work.
