Title: K-7000...defective flyback?
Post by: Q*Bert_OP on October 09, 2011, 04:18:49 am
Had a K-7000 flyback blow out...recent production (7-12-2010), but on chassis for 3 days before problem. The game was on for about 48 hours before the flyback started arcing and smoking.

Below are pictures of the burnt spot.

Anyone had issues with the new flybacks?

Did a chassis problem cause this?

I'll take that as a no...

This one came from one of the top 3 US parts suppliers...it's just another piece of Chinese crap that fails quickly to add to the list :soapbox:

-Black pinball rubbers produced within the past year (these should last years, not 2 weeks)
-all recent LEDs (should last a long time, not one month then loose 90% brightness, or die)
-Multi XX-in-1 PCBs...7/40 I've installed this year failed
-Chinese capacitors...
...the list could go on and on
