Title: Bartop arcade finally complete!
Post by: equlizer on October 08, 2011, 06:15:44 am
After 5 weeks of building, picking out art, applying art, applying clear coat, programming all the emulators etc its finally done!  Made a short vid (yeh its at night) and some pics!  Intel I3 2100 and an ATI 6850 with 6gig of ram, 19" 4:3 viewsonic monitor.  The joysticks are JLW's mounted underneath (cause there used to be happ) and shaft extended by using 2x M6 hex nuts.  Sanwa switches replaced with cherry's.  Buttons are Happ competitions using GGG micro leaf switches.

equlizer:

Nice bartop!

Have a few questions though:

1.  What are the bundle of wires exiting the rear of the cab for?  Power? USB? Network?
2.  What front end are you using?
3.  What emulators are you running?
4.  Do you have any video of the bartop "in action"?

Once again, congrats on the build!   :applaud:

I'm also curious which front end you're using.

oops :)  Bundle is: power, network, usb hub, micro usb/mini usb connections.  I am using Maximus Arcade for now till im able to download all the movies and stuff then ill use Hyperspin.  Im pretty sure the 6850 is overkill but its from my main system (crossfire) so im using it till i find a lower end card for cheap.  Heres another pic of the entire back where the main power switch and recessed power on button is and fan controller.

Are you blowing in or out with the bottom fan?   The LCD usually produces alot of heat depending on the type of lighting so some vent holes at the top maybe beneficial to the life of your equipment.

There are 2 small vent holes on top (one has the fan controller coming out) and the door has 2 as well.  The fan below is sucking out air   After playing for an hour the air is luke warm coming out the bottom.
