Hey guys,
so i've done my fair share of building mame cabs, restoring old machines, and putting together computers etc. My wood working skills...ehhh none. I live in Manhattan so I don't really have the room for tools, but I do have some room to do some things. I'm looking to put together a touchscreen jukebox, got my hardware, my touchscreen, my software..no cabinet.
I was looking at some ideas and may buy an old Philco radio, clean it all up, put a touchscreen inside and call it a day. I'm having trouble finding one so i'm thinking maybe I should do something else. I came across the attached thread and really liked his idea...just can't get in contact with him! haha

The problem is, i'm very limited with woodworking skills and dont have the place really to do it. Does anyone know of a cheap solution that would have a slim kit like this that I can buy and maybe modify a little? I wouldn't mind finding an old vintage wall speaker box and turning one of those into one but haven't found one yet either. Let me know if anyone is willing to cut some pieces together for me at least a shell..the rest I can do on my own. Of course I'd pay you for your supplies and services.
thanks
Jason

Here is a similar looking wall mount. Lots of others to look at in the freebox etouch forum as well.

ah very nice..thanks for the link
edit: these are great and all, but I need to actually buy one from someone..I can't really build a frame..i can put together a kit :)

What about Mountain's (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=79817.0) sweet looking Juke kits?

Only ones that sell a wall mount kit are NorthWestern Custom (Mameroom).

Hmm.. I think its a great thinking. Jukebox with touch panel will surely make big impact in this. I am keen to wait this type of tech. Please go on with your work. Good Luck.

You could try something a little different, as I did:

Good luck with it!

yea man your project looks great, but I can't start cutting and putting something together like that..I'm in an NYC apartment. My Fiancé is not going to be thrilled if I turn our living room into a work bench haha. Hey if you want to build a round or square cabinet for me i'd pay ya for it!

ok so who say's u can't buy a touch screen
a spare putter :lappie:,and hook it altoghter
slap the touch on the wall, lappie on the floor, hook to your stereo system?
after all the s.w is contained in the putter
the rest is the off board cabinet stuff,touch-screen/amp
just food for thought until u get a work bench

yea I may end up just mounting the touchscreen directly to the wall, but then I have a bunch of ugly wires hanging. I'm in a rental in Manhattan for 2 years or so...so can't start putting holes in the wall and running wires to the ground... P.S. the walls are concrete hahaha. I think something like an old radio may be best. Found a good one, now I need to figure out how to some how restore the wood :)

yup that will work also
there is some fine 5" type touch's out there for that kinda cab
also u could just grab yourself a bartop video game, that is of course touch screen driven..this way all u need do is add your s/w and a proper audio amp
boba make's some fine stuff
also i use my used merit megatouch's as bartop juke's
i just add a house amp system
they sound sweet
