Oh where oh where do those old threads go ?
;)

The arcade cabinet is too busy for my tastes, but I like the jukebox. Have you considered some sort of artwork under the screen? Perhaps some chrome scroll work to match the metal on the sides?

Are you planning to paint/decorate the sides of your cabinet?

Hey - he's a carpenter joiner type, not a painter! :) >:D

It's the Canyonero of MAME cabinets!
-
A few nice touches in the mame cab, but I personally think the look could be vastly improved with a darker, varnished finish and some T-molding. Nice keyboard holder, can you still see the screen when using it?
-
It is cool and if you enjoy that is what is really important. To me though, it just looks like too much. How many games actually need that many buttons and/or wheels? I wouldn't want to be leaning over or reaching around those wheels to get to the joysticks and buttons.
-
The arcade is nuts! It looks like a hypercube with joysticks but hey at least its original (dont mind me, I have a frankenpanel).
Buddy I do like your juke a lot though, A LOT.
Do you have photos of the build process?
-
Nice jukebox, but I'm also not in favour of huge frankenpanels the kind of which you built. I gotta ask, are there any three simultaneous player racing games in existence?

Ironman Stewart's Off-Road, which IS worth having that Frankendrivingpanel.

There are certainly 3 player racing games (Super Offroad anyone?!).

But, that CP has 4 wheels, not 3. I suspect he's got some console emulators installed cause I don't think there are any games that would work with 4 player steering wheels on the same screen.
[edit] Beat me to it...
But, there are a few 4 player, simultaneous, single screen games out there.
- Fisco 400
- Hot Rod
- Indy 4
- Sprint 4

If it's the right cab for you then I'm happy.

Gerble1000,
One smart looking juke box. I use Album player myself but use a standard monitor thus, a mouse to select the songs. It was something i wanted from the start a touchscreen but they are a wee bit expensive. But now after watching your Vid i see i'm missing out on whole lot of facilities. At present i have my AP on a PC in a cupboard with monitor on a swing arm bracket in the room (pretty basic). What i did do with it was load on a free view TV dongle, which was useful when i wanted to get my son out the way. But i prefer the music. Your post has now kicked me into looking for a touchscreen again....Thanks
The arcade game is a Beast - But impressive. i have a basic cocktail arcade cab which is broken.....Son and his mate thinking the money slot actually takes 10p's....Now i have bulky looking coffee table. I am not very good with the programming side of things to get MAME on an alternative PC i have.
Any way nice to see some originality from the UK

I like the Jukebox. Either a darker stain or a Piano black color would look good on it IMO. Not a big fan of the stained plywood look.
The arcade machine is huge with way to many buttons. You did a good job on the angles for the steering wheels and the keyboard tray is unique. Also I like the way you mounted the guns but with the angles and size of the control panel it reminds me more of Rock Em Sock Em Robots.

Do the steering wheels come off at least so you can use the rest of the system :dizzy:
