Title: Arrested Development
Post by: Hoopz on October 03, 2011, 09:05:47 am
It's back.  Looks like either confirmation that a short series and movie will be happening or another rumor that it could happen.  I'm  hoping for the former.  Watch out for hop ons!

Sounds like the short season will setup a movie.  I hope it's actually true or comes about quicker than the movie has so far.

Maybe they'll bring back Firefly too :)  :laugh2:

I don't care one way or the other, but it gives me hope for this.

Netflix Plans to Make Entire New Season of Arrested Development Available for Streaming on Same Day

Speaking with reporters yesterday at the National Association of Broadcasters convention in Las Vegas, Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos confrimed the company's plan to release all 10 episodes of Arrested Development's highly anticipated fourth season at the same time.

Sarandos didn't provide an exact date, but the revived series is expected to debut early next year.

Show creator Mitch Hurwirz, who also spoke yesterday, revealed new details about what the new season has in store for the Bluth family. "Because everybody is on separate shows, we had this idea to do kind of an anthology series and meet the characters, where they have been, one at a time," told panel attendees. "That is evolving into the old show again, even though the concept is slightly different."

He went on to confirm the return of Scott Baio's character, Bob Loblaw, but not much else.

Leaving them wanting more, Hurwitz hinted at the possibility that the fourth season could open up the door to an order for additional episodes. "We would love this to be the first first of many visits," he said.

Really looking forward to this.  My oldest son recently went through the entire series on Netflix so there are three fans in the house now.

AD WAS a good show, but to me it really started falling apart later on. I can see why it got cancelled.

The first season was awesome, then once they hit the Charlize Theron stuff, it really started going downhill. After that, it just never recovered.

I look forward to the new stuff, though, and I hope the movie is great.

While we're at it, how about more Trailer Park Boys? Seven seasons and three movies weren't enough. MORE!

I'm happy to see I can watch the whole season in one day and then cancel netflix.  I hope they make it available for sale on DVD someday.

Heh, I hate to say it, but the upcoming AD, Blues Clues, and Sesame Street (I have a 3 year old) are the only reasons I hold on to it right now. It was bad before, but now that the Starz deal went kaput, I feel I have trawled whatever there was worth watching on streaming.

If all you want it for is kid's shows, just get amazon prime. They might have a suck selection like netflix, but they have a decent enough kids selection. $17 less a year and you get free 2 day shipping on amazon orders. Who knows when AD will come out, but you can just get a free 2 week trial under your wife's name or something when the time comes.

On a side note, I was conference call training an employee yesterday named Steve Holt. I had to do my best to not raise my fists in the air and yell "Steve Holt!"

I'm not a big Theron fan but I thought "Wee Britain" was funny.

For British Eyes Only....

Regarding Firefly, I wouldn't count on anything anytime soon.  The main guy, Nathan Fillion still is one of the two main characters on "Castle".  The guy on the left (no idea on his name) seems like he's in a lot of things here and there.  Don't know if he's a mainstay on anything right now.  Could they get Summer Glau to look as deceptively feeble as she did then?  If it happened, I would suspect at least a few character changes.

I think I might do that, actually, my wife recently got a Kindle Fire so we are more ingrained than ever into the Amazon market-tyranny anyway.

One of my favorite visual gags is when she sat in front of the "I" and "T" on the Wee Britain bench... didn't notice it till my 2nd watch-through at least.  :laugh2:

*Bluthex should not be taken with Teamocil.

If he couldn't get the reference maybe you could have gotten out of it with a sincere "I've made a huge mistake."
