I just got my PC adapter for my new actlabs RS Steering wheel....
I plug it all in... attach it to my cabinet (kinda) and nothing...
Not-Connected...
So I play around with it for a bit... Got lights on the front... everything seems fine...
Finally I plug in another joystick I've had for a bit...
Not-Connected...
crap... I've never used this gameport since getting my new computer.
Driver... check
enabled in bios... check
changed i/o address... check (windows even recognized it)
Still nothing.... Its an ATX case so there isn't any cables.
Well... ok...I have a gameport card... go to plug it in..
NO ISA SLOTS!
And EVERY sound card I have is isa (since they where the only ones I could use in dos)...
sigh...
Any suggestions out there?
There are some gameport -> usb... anyone have any luck with them?
Any other suggetions?
I'm running 98... Drivers from 98... but I don't think there is an updated version... Going to check for updated bios... but I have a feeling I'm hosed.
btw... Its really for my dreamcast... I haven't got the dreamcast adapter yet so I was hoping to test it... but I do want this to work with my PC at some point.

Is that the older Actlabs RS wheel without force feedback? If it is isnt the PC adapter a serial/usb unit not a gameport unit?

Or is it a gameport interface that they no longer sell?

Its the non-forcefeedback.. and yes I got the wheel, the pc adapter and the dreamcast adapter for less then the usb adapter... all new...
but...
I got the gameport to work. I had a Gravis xterminator and plugged it in, loaded the drivers and everything is working.
So now its the pc-adapter (that aren't being sold anymore and I bought it on ebay...hopefully thats not it).
I am hoping to get the dreamcast adapter in the next few days. So I will test the wheel with that... then I will probably know whats broken...
