Title: Golden Tee 97
Post by: chrimeg on October 01, 2011, 02:54:43 pm
Purchased a Golden Tee 97 cabinet to restore.

Everything is now working  however I have a strange graphics problem.

When ever the high scores are shown or game manufacturer credits etc. Most of the text characters are corrupted.

Ran system board tests and get reports and get the following:

Red Palette Test status = 0F00
Status = 111111
Red Palette test failed.

Also running GROM test reports

GROMC-0 BAD
GROMC-1 BAD

Cleaned all sockets and chips checked all traces etc and cannot locate a problem. Doing some research on the board this seems to be a common problem but can't find a solution.

Anyone have one of these PCB/ROM sets kicking around or have you ran into the same problem before and resolved it?

Any help would be great!

Those boards are all surface mount.  IT could probably tell you if you can fix it or not.  But boards for older GT's are cheap on ebay.  I'd just replace that board.
