HI,
I am looking for an encoder wheel, Iam trying to make my own but failimg miserably. Oscar got encoder wheels at a very good price, but shipping is expensive when I buy just the encoder wheel.
If one of you want to sell your home made spinners, I am willing to consider, please mail me with the pic.
Thanks

I just made myself a very nice spinner from a harddrive...... very easy and cheap to do and I was VERY happy with
it...A total cost of $2 ..... all ya need is
one dead hd $0
one old serial mouse $1
one knob $1

i didnt use the bolt with the plastic piece i just glued the encoder wheel to the bearing
and if ya really want ill gut a mouse for ya and sell you the little encoder wheel.......but its a very easy animal to debone and
im sure you wont have much trouble...

I tried to do it that way, byt how do you mount the mouse ? Where do I find thw wire hanger ? or what should ask at the store? When I went to nearby HD they did not have any clue wht Iam asking for :(

mounting the mouse............ ahem ..... mounting the mouse depends on the shape of the board from the mouse...
the first one I wired and mounted ended up having a broken optic... the second mouse had a much smaller board
and I had to rethink the whole thing buts its not really that bad...ill get a pic of mine up...
all I did was to use two long bolts in 2 of the mounting hole and then hotglued the board onto them...
works great and holds without worry
