Here is a pic orf an actual distributor invoice for an upright STARGATE from 1982. The name of the operator has been removed to protect the innocent.
-
Neat. I imagine that was crazy expensive in '82 dollars (as it is pretty crazy expensive now, but imagine buying a new Stargate... drool...
-
I've got one for a DIG DUG too. It is also from 1982 and it also cost $2695.

Inflation adjusted, that's $6172.67 (not including the sales tax), according to good ol' Wolfram Alpha. Not too much higher than a high end game these days, though the modern ones are usually a bit more complex in cabinet design/features.
-
That is true but back then when it was released it was considered high end and feature loaded too for its time.
So, 25 cents per play then equates to about 60 cents per play now in today's money.
Man, how times have and have not changed.
