Title: Subwoofer in cabinet to loud
Post by: Martijn on September 25, 2011, 07:51:08 am
hi,

i have the creative z2300 speakerset in my cabinet. I also had this model in my first cabinet, and mounted it like this

with the base pumping out like this

This worked fine and very controlled

With my new slim cabinet i have to mounth the sub on its side like this

So the woofer pumps to the right, even with the woofer volume at it lowest its still a lot.

What can i do to reduce the resonation?

I was thinking, maybe put a mfd shelf above the woofer with isolation?

Stuff some fibreglass insulation into the bass port?

Mount the sub on rubber feet ?

What about using equaliser on PC to reduce really low frequencies? Think there are power resistors to do that aswell.
