Picked this up a week or so ago.

It's not with out issues.

It also is missing some of the marquee box and the volume pot needed to be changed.
The left screen has pretty bad burn in but the right screen is awesome.
Here we go!
I'm going to attack one of the front lower corners that needs glue first due to glue taking the longest to setup.
The level is just being used as a block i actually could not find a piece of wood.
While that dries I'm going to rebuild a front lower corner that is missing. I know don't how many people have done this, but here's how..
I propped up the cab with a 2x4. If i could have safely leaned it back farther i would have.
Next i stapled a piece of thin cardboard to the molding, and sort of fold it into the shape that it should be. Oversize is better. Also tape the inside of your cardboard with box tape , it peels away from the bondo so much easier that way.
Then i trimmed it to look like this.
So now you have a little flap door type thing.
Next i mixed the bondo and piled it in. Close the flap, tape it off and let it dry.
When its dry , peel everything off and you have something like this. This one was good and only needed the one fill, no air pockets.
While the bondo is not 100% set up it's a good time to put your T-molding groove in. I used a razor knife and a flat head screw driver
(http://i946.photobucket.com/albums/ad301/rapomstage3/during/SDC10569.jpg)
Next Im going to tackle the second worse fill on this project.
Same premise as the other corner just bigger and crappier.
Let it dry and peel. Hopefully one fill is enough.
Two small air pockets..no bigge just skim coat em after its sanded out.
Sanded out
(http://i946.photobucket.com/albums/ad301/rapomstage3/during/SDC10594.jpg)
The worst part next. I really don't want to rebuild this part, but i don't have another choice. I wouldn't recommend doing it this way. Cutting a piece of wood would be much easier. If you can lay what ever your working on , on its back do it. I couldn't so gravity is working against me.

Another coat to fill in the air pockets and missed areas.
I noticed a crappy repair on one of the cpo boxes.
Someone just drove screws through the side of the panel. looks like hell.
I glued it up and put some T-molding in to keeps the right with.
I taped it up as opposed to clamps.
The cp's are decent but the graphic extends past the plexi and look like crap where they weren't protected.
I trimmed off the excess exposing the the black metal. I think at least for now it looks better.
Of course i took apart the cps and cleaned the crap out of them. I'm pretty sure that there was mouse crap inside both cp's.
Bondo's dry and sanded and ready to be properly mounted.
BTW.. I'm cheap so i refresh rusty screw heads by spraying the with WD-40 and sanding them.
I took of the coin doors disassembled and painted. sanded and painted pretty much everything.
It's not museum quality but its way better than it was. I'm sure its hard to tell in the pics but it is a big improvement. my T-molding should be in soon. and she'll be looking good.

Bondo magic, good sir. Nice work!
:applaud:
-
Are you going to repro the marquee topper?
-
The marquee is about an inch to tall to fit in my basement. I'm going to shorten it. Id like to redesign it since it doesn't have sides anyway. I'm really not sure yet.
-
nice cab! i didnt even know nba jam te was released in dual screen, that would be AWESOME for parties and some 2 on 2 street ball!
-
It wasn't released on dual screen. It was a run n gun.
-
That cab may have been a Run N Gun at some point in its life, but it started out as a Cyberball.
-
Ah. Good to know
