Title: Sound activated lights
Post by: GoTheBunnies on September 13, 2011, 06:11:58 am
Hi guys,

I’m putting some low voltage LED’s on the front of a jukebox, and I want them to flash along to the beat of the music. Can anyone tell me what I need to buy to accomplish this? The lights have come with a junction box that I can set to a few different functions (flashing, chasing etc)……but not sound activated.

Thanks

Just google "sound activated led lights". There's tons of hardwired solutions for something like that. Getting existing LEDs to work with one of those units could be a tad tricky, though. It might be easier to just use the lights that come with whatever sound activated unit you buy.

But if you're looking for something that can be computer controlled (to do custom animations, work with Mame, etc), you'll need something like an LEDWiz, and some software, like LED Blinky. CHeck out the Wiki here for info on that.

I emailed these guys - this unit is no longer in stock unfortunately.  Back to the drawing board......

If it were that simple, I wouldn't have had to ask the question.  I've contacted a few sites, and I'm still unable to find a unit that's going to do this.
