UPDATE:Read all three posts!
I am rebuilding my Mame Cab with a new Windows 7 box.
I have 2 U360s. In Windows, thy both appear and behave correctly under "game controllers". That is, if I move them, the dot moves under game controllers.
In Ultramap, the same thing happens. I move the sticks and the dot moves in Ultrmap.
But I get an error when loading Ultrmap (see attachments). Ultrmap does not see the sticks. And it will not let me program them with different maps.
I've tried running as an Admin and I have tried compatibility modes of Nt 4.0, XP SP2 and XP SP3.
What step am I missing here? Is there an installer that I need? Actually, maybe that is it. I'm posting and digging in my old box of goodies.

Oh, attachments
UPDATE:
Found a thread elsewhere where someone found the same problem. Turns out that an underpowered USB port can cause this. A powered USB hub could be a solution.
Still hunting down this issue more. But wow. (http://www.mameworld.info/ubbthreads/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Number=263785&page=0&view=expanded&sb=5&o=&fpart=1&vc=1 (http://www.mameworld.info/ubbthreads/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Number=263785&page=0&view=expanded&sb=5&o=&fpart=1&vc=1))

Wow, Just wow.
This new desktop has 6 USB ports in back and 5 up front.
I was using 5 of 6 in back (keyboard/mouse, two u360s and an iPac). Moved the u360s and iPac up front. Rebooted and everything works.
I am shocked.

Well its appreciated leaving the answer rather than saying "figured it out" :afro:

No problem .... but .... I have to do an update and state that ....
.. I think it is still a possible solution. I turned my cab on today and the dang thing isn't working. This time though, the iPac isn't working either.
USB keyboard and mouse work. iPac and 2 u360s are dead.
Doing one Windwos update and will be rebooting with USB ports moved again.

This is somewhat aggravating. I moved one of my USB ports for an ultimarc product to the back of the PC. It works. Not sure if it is a u360 or the iPac.
This might be an intermittent issue. If so, I'll be buying a powered USB hub to test as it is the only thing that Google found as a possibility and my own testing hints that this could be the actual problem.

I've had no end of USB related issues with my cab, as far as I can tell, though, everything stemmed from a bad hub (a cheap radio shack 7 port).
Thing is, I had devices that were NOT EVEN ATTACHED to that hub failing intermittently, until I removed that hub. Very bizarre.
But everything's been rock solid so far since I removed it, so, finger's crossed.
